What is Extrait de Parfum?

Extrait de Parfum tends to be stronger and more long-lasting than Eau de Parfum because the formula contains a higher concentration of oil. The average strength of BARUTI fragrances is between 20-25%. These are extremely long-lasting fragrances with great projection.

 

Can I try your perfumes before buying a full bottle?

You may purchase one of our Discovery Sets through our site, which we will ship to you within one working day. Alternatively, contact us to find the retailer nearest to you.

 

Do you have a physical store?

Currently, we do not yet have a brick and mortar store, but we do retail world-wide in niche perfume boutiques and concept stores.

 

How are your fragrances made?

All of our formulas are created by BARUTI’s founder/perfumer Spyros Drosopoulos and are blended in-house, by hand, in our atelier in Amsterdam. If you are curious, you may take a peek behind the scenes in the video on our Discovery page. You are also welcome to follow us on our Instagram @barutiperfumes, where we regularly post behind the scenes stories and IGTV videos.

 

Where can I buy BARUTI perfumes?

BARUTI is available in niche perfumeries and concept stores all around the world. To get the details of points of sale closest to you, please contact us.

 

Are your fragrances vegan/all natural/green i.o.w.

What do you do to protect the planet?

BARUTI employs both natural, nature identical and man-made materials in its products. Apart from the fact that the notion that non-natural materials are harmful (for humans, or the planet) is at least erroneous, using all-natural materials would be too limiting in a creative sense and even worse utterly unsustainable from an environmental point of view. We do not use animal products that require harming/stressing the animals and as by law (Regulation (EC) N° 1223/2009 on cosmetic products) our products are not tested on animals!

Our packaging is designed to be as compact as possible and we avoid using heavy materials in the packaging (like heavy caps), so as to making shipping our products to our customers as “green” as possible, because they occupy only the necessary space with no unnecessary weight that would lead to extra fuel consumption. 

We collaborate with NGO’s to help raise awareness and sponsor their activities to save endangered plant species. Currently we are collaborating with The Red List Project www.theredlistproject.org and the Hortus Botanicus in Amsterdam.

 

Do your fragrances only come in 30ml format?

At the moment, yes. However, watch this space. Follow us on Instagram and/or Facebook and be the first to know about our new releases.

 

Do I need to register to make a purchase?

No, this is not necessary. But if you do, it will make returning visits to our webshop easier for you since your address information and your previous orders are stored for you. Registration is free and easy to complete during checkout.

 

How will BARUTI handle my personal information?

BARUTI will not disclose or sell any personal information collected through the site. This information will be used only to ship your order. Please read our Terms & Conditions for more details.

 

How can I pay for my order?

Depending on where you are located in the world our prices are in Euros or in US Dollars. You can pay with your debit card or with your credit card (Mastercard and Visa). European customers can use either iDeal, Sofort, Bankontact and many other methods of payment.

 

Is my credit card information safe?

Yes, it is. Payment details are entered over a secure SSL link to PayPal or Mollie who will then authorize payment once the details have been completed and checked. Credit card details entered in the webshop are kept securely by PayPal and Mollie and are not transmitted to BARUTI.

 

What is your return and refund policy?

Our refund and returns policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have passed since your purchase, we can’t offer you a full refund or exchange.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

Several types of goods are exempt from being returned. The Discovery set and the Room Sprays cannot be returned.

Additional non-returnable items:

  • Gift cards/Vouchers

To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.

Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.

There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted:

  • Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error.
  • Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery

 

Refunds

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.

 

Late or missing refunds

If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.

Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Sale items

Only regular priced items may be refunded. Sale items cannot be refunded.

 

Exchanges

We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at info@barutiperfumes.com for instructions where to send your item.

 

Gifts

If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.

If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and they will find out about your return.

 

Shipping returns

To return your product, please contact us at info@barutiperfumes.com for instructions where to send it.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you may vary.

If you are returning more expensive items, you may consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

Do you offer perfume courses?

Spyros teaches 2-3 times a year, a week-long intensive perfumery class at the Institute for Art and Olfaction www.artandolfaction.com and trains the next generation of perfumers (like Marianna) We also offer intern positions to students to train with us.
