The Story

“Dirt Nap” is slang for death. This may not seem like a likely name for a fruity, floral and woody fragrance, except that there is this scent of “decay” coming from the durian fruit and the dirt accord. The idea at the heart of the perfume is: death is not the end. It all began with the song “Presence” by the band Anathema, which features a quote from writer Eckhart Tolle: “Life has no opposite. The opposite of death is birth. Life is eternal.” It stayed with me and has helped me make sense of loss and my own mortality.
